This policy explains what personal data Liscairn Digital Legacy Consultancy ("Liscairn", "we", "us") collects through this website, why, and what rights you have over it.
Who we are
Liscairn Digital Legacy Consultancy is based in Ireland and provides free guidance and paid consultancy services on digital estate planning. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at privacy@liscairn.com for any question about your data.
What we collect, and why
Enquiry and booking details
When you request a consultation through our "Get help" booking form, we collect your name, email address, and chosen appointment time. We use this to arrange, confirm, and deliver the service you asked for, and to follow up afterwards. This is processed under contract / pre-contract necessity — we need it to provide the service you requested.
Solicitor referrals
If you ask us for a referral to a solicitor experienced in digital estate planning, we share your contact details with that solicitor only with your explicit consent, given at the time you ask.
Checklist progress
The interactive checklist saves which items you have ticked off in your browser's local storage, on your own device. This data never leaves your browser and is never sent to or visible by Liscairn.
Search queries
The search feature runs entirely in your browser against a fixed set of guide content. Your search terms are never sent to our servers.
Basic technical logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and to keep the site running reliably. We do not use this to identify individuals.
We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies. If we introduce analytics in future to understand how the guide is used, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent through the cookie banner before anything loads — see our Cookie Policy.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only:
- With a solicitor in our referral network, if you have explicitly asked us to make a referral.
- With service providers who help us run the business — for example, a scheduling or email delivery provider used to manage bookings. We only give them what they need to do that job, and we will list any such providers here once they are in place.
- If required by law, for example in response to a valid legal request.
Where a provider we use is based outside the EU/EEA (for example, in the United States), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking data only for as long as needed to deliver the service you requested and to meet our legal and accounting obligations (typically up to seven years for financial records), then delete it. Checklist progress and search activity are never stored by us in the first place — they stay on your device under your control.
Your rights under GDPR
As an individual in the EU, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Have your data erased ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to how we use your data
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
- Lodge a complaint with Ireland's Data Protection Commission (forms.dataprotection.ie)

Security and children
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data we hold. This site and our services are intended for adults planning their own digital estate and are not directed at children.
